1. Instax mini

Instax mini - as the name suggests is a small 5.4(W) x 8.6(H) cm | 2.1' x 3.4' credit card size photo. Its a portrait type film that has thicker white border in the bottom of the photo. So when you slide the photo in the pocket your photo wont be covered. Also its the cheapest film. Price for 10 pack starts from 9$. Fujifilm cameras that uses this film has a portrait type lens so the best to shoot portraits of 2 people. Yes the size of the photo is quite small but it has something special about this format. It feels like a selfie instant photo. And if Polaroid created their legendary square format Fujifilm definitely has their own now!

Pros

- The cheapest film on the market

- Camera easy to use

- Works well for portraits

Cons

- The film is quite small if you compare it to wide or square.
- Not that good for bigger groups of people

- No option to save digital copy of the photo.

2. Instax Wide

Instax wide - as the name suggests its bigger format then instax mini. Photo size is 10.8(W) x 8.6(H) cm | 4.2' x 3.4'. So two Instax mini = Instax wide photo. This film is horizontal or landscape format and its great for bigger group photos. Cameras that uses this film has a wider lens so this a great choice if you want to make several location shots too. Film is more expensive then instax mini, 10 pack starts from 13$ - but HEY you get 2times more photo space!

My suggestion to pick the one you like better. My favorite is Instax mini but i doesn't mean that Instax Wide is not great choice! Don't worry, both of them will work great for your celebration!

Pros

- Biggest film (photo) on the market

- Works well with wide shots / landscape photography.

Cons
- It is difficult to center camera shot composition as the viewfinder is off-centered

- Not good for portraits

- No option to save a digital copy of the photo.

3. Instax Square

Instax Square film features a square format similar to classic Polaroid photos. This format combines the best of instant and digital photography, allowing guests to preview their shots before printing and even apply filters for added style. With the option to print duplicates and save all images to an SD card, you can share physical and digital copies of your wedding memories with your guests. While the Instax Square film and camera may be more expensive, the added features and versatility make it a popular choice for modern weddings.

Pros

- Great film format, similar to the Polaroid film

- Great for portraits or bigger groups

- Option to save the digital copy and make instant photo

- Make several copies of one photo

- Add photo filters to make the pictures "pop"

Cons

- Camera is more expensive

- It might be a bit more difficult to use as the camera has more options.

What Liumy Albums recommends

The best film format definitely is the Instax Square format. It has that nostalgic old Polaroid feeling. Works great for portraits or bigger groups. The price is more expensive the instax mini but it is worth it.

The power comes from the Square format camera. It's a merge of instant camera and digital. With plenty of amazing options you can control how do you want to make the pictures: click and print instantly or click and check the photo first on the digital screen and then decide if you want to print it or maybe add some filters? Yes, you can do that as well. Maybe one copy for me and one for my friend? No problem. All the photos will be saved to SD card as well.

I would highly recommend this camera for your celebration!

Much Love,
